Chaps When buying or ordering a pair of chaps, the biggest concern should be the quality of the craftsmanship. Anybody can sew op a pair of chaps, but if they are unaware of the stress points, or the possible likelihood that they will tear or rip if not reinforced in specific areas, well you will soon be buying another pair. But probably not from the same source. Here a Beastmaster we want you to come back and bring a friend, so we make sure that every pair of chaps sold here is of a worthy maker. The next thing to consider is the weight of leather which will best
suit your needs. If you are needing a pair of chaps to ride bulls with,
we recommend that you get into a pair that will give you the protection
you need while in the bucking chutes and the likelihood that you will,
from time to time, get stepped on by the bovine beast, most of which
are rather heavy. A pair of light weight thin leather chaps, will not
help you much in this situation. So make sure that you have a nice upper
4--5oz leather. If it is bareback riding that you like, the 4--5oz leather still works for the protection but a 3-4oz leather really flops and pops and dresses up the ride and spurring motion. The protection is not as big an issue in the bareback event. Now lets talk about the fun part of rodeo chaps, the fancy part. Chaps can be ordered any color, any size, with many patterns available. We have included some of the patterns in pictures for you, but these are just the tip of the iceberg on the possibilities. We never try to make two pair just alike.
